When we think about luxury in association with our
Austin home builders, more than likely what comes to mind is the lavish finishes and features that they will add to our beautiful new custom homes. However, for Sterling Custom Homes, luxury is as much about taking care of its employees and the community that it serves as it is about building beautiful homes. That’s why when Gary Grambley, Sterling Custom Homes’ sales and marketing director, came and asked for help in raising money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Central and South Texas, the builder didn’t hesitate.
Recently, Duke McDowell, president of Sterling Custom Homes, wrote a check for $2,500 and presented it to the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Central and South Texas as part of a gift matching donation on behalf of Gary’s efforts.
Gary is training for the Rock n’ Roll San Antonio Marathon on Nov. 13 and is using that race as a platform to raise money for this worthy cause.
“Several months ago I met with Mr. McDowell about my goal of raising money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation® in conjunction with my training for the San Antonio Marathon this fall,” explains Gary. “I went into the meeting with the intention of soliciting a $1,000 donation. When I told Mr. McDowell about my plans and that a $1,000 donation would help me kick off the program, he offered, without hesitation, to match the first $2,500 I raised for the charity. I was blown away by his generosity!”
The Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Central and South Texas is a nonprofit organization that grants wishes for children with life-threatening medical conditions. If you would like to join Gary and
